There are many festivals including the famous Jazz a Juan event which is one of the top jazz festivals in the world. Sophia Antipolis is a technology park northwest of Antibes and southwest of Nice. Since its creation in 1968, Sophia Antipolis has had a reputation for innovation, reflected in its contemporary yet elegant architecture and combining quality with an exceptional living environment.

Activities:
In Antibes one finds all the activities you would expect from a seaside town with 25 km of coastline such as sailing, swimming, diving, boat trips, water skiing, but there are also other sports on offer like martial arts, tennis, yoga, fencing and gymnastics. In the surrounding countryside there are opportunities for rock climbing and hiking, shooting and archery. There is also a motor bike club and activities for those with physical difficulties.

Food Local specialities:
The cuisine of Provence relies heavily upon fresh fish, vegetables and fruit- tomatoes, peppers, melons, peaches- as well as garlic, olives and olive oil. Local dishes include ratatouille (a vegetable stew), brandade de morue (a thick cream with cod, olive oil, garlic) and daube provencal (a stew with braised beef). A local wine is made using Servan grapes, a variety which is said to keep until Easter.
